Enclave Work Experience

The Center for Life Enrichment provides a variety of enclave employment opportunities. An enclave is composed of two or more individuals working with a supervisor. All opportunities are paid work. The Center for Life Enrichment offers the following enclaves:

1. Holiday Inn (Room Preparation):

Individuals develop skills in vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, disinfecting bathrooms, and making beds. Individuals also develop skills socially.

2. Custodial/Right Way Cleaning Crews (St. Mary’s & Calvert County):

Individuals working on the cleaning crews develop skills in vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, and disinfecting bathrooms. Individuals also develop skills socially.

3. Vintage Values in Leonardtown, Lexington Park, Prince Frederick, and Charlotte Hall:

Vintage Values are thrift/convenience stores operated by the Center to teach skills in retail sales. Individuals develop skills in stocking, pricing, taking inventory, and operating a cash register. Individuals also develop skills socially.

4. Met Com:

Individuals on the Met Com crew read all the water meters in St. Mary’s County. Individuals develop skills in reading, documenting, and following directions. Individuals also develop skills socially.

5. Commissary (Stocking and Custodial Crews):

Individuals on the Stocking Crew are responsible for stocking shelves at the Commissary located on the naval base. Individuals develop skills in stocking shelves and rotating stock. Individuals on the Custodial Crew develop skills in vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, and disinfecting bathrooms.
